Le violoniste Philippe Graffin s’est forgé une réputation incontestable pour ses interprétations du répertoire français. Philippe a réalisé son premier enregistrement avec Yehudi Menuhin à la tête du Royal Philharmonic Orchestra et les nombreux enregistrements très applaudis qu’il a réalisés depuis témoignent d’un esprit de recherche et comprennent de nombreuses premières mondiales. Il a redécouvert des versions originales du Poème de Chausson et de Tzigane de Ravel et s’est fait le champion des concertos pour violon oubliés de Fauré et du compositeur anglais Coleridge-Taylor, qu’il a enregistrés et interprétés aux BBC Proms.

En tant que soliste de concerto, il s’est produit avec des orchestres tels que le Philharmonia, le BBC Symphony et le BBC National Orchestra of Wales, entre autres. Graffin interprète des œuvres de nombreux compositeurs vivants et a reçu des œuvres écrites pour lui par Rodion Shchedrin, Vytautas Barkaukas, David Matthews, Philippe Hersant et Yves Prin.

Philippe est un musicien de chambre très recherché et est le fondateur et directeur artistique des « Consonances », un festival de musique de chambre qui se tient à Saint-Nazaire, en France, et qui célèbre son 25e anniversaire en 2015. Parmi ses nouvelles parutions figurent la première mondiale du concerto pour violon du compositeur finlandais Tauno Marttinen, avec le Turku Philharmonic, et un nouvel enregistrement du Concerto pour violon de Tchaïkovski, le premier à inclure la cadence d’Ysaÿe, sur un CD qui comprend également les Cinq Mélodies de Prokofiev. Il joue sur un violon de Domenico Busano, fabriqué à Venise en 1730. Très demandé comme professeur, Philippe Graffin enseigne au Conservatoire national supérieur de musique (CNSM) de Paris et au Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles.

Born in Taiwan, Chen-Fang Chien began playing the violin at the age of five. She entered the National University of Arts in Tainan in 2014 and decided to pursue her studies in France with Christophe Boulier at Conservatoire Municipal Gabriel Fauré in Paris in 2015. She then studied with Philippe Graffin at the CNSMD de Paris from 2018, where she obtained her bachelor and master degree.

 Chen-Fang Chien’s talent has earned her recognition, including winning the first prize at the Taipei Student Competition of Music in 2013 and being a laureate at the Schoenfeld International String Competition in the same year. In 2021, she won the prize of the Fondation de France, and in 2023, she was honored with the Prix Pasquier at the Ravel Academy.

 Chen-Fang Chien is currently studying at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.

Throughout her musical education, she has received guidance from distinguished figures like Pierre Amoyal, Renaud Capuçon, Robert Chen, Sophia Jaffé, and Vesselin Parashkevov.

Katsura Mizumoto, piano :

Après avoir obtenu une maîtrise d’économie à l’université d’Hokkaido, Katsura Mizumoto s’est installée en Allemagne et a obtenu son diplôme de la Hochschule für Musik de Francfort avec la plus haute distinction. Elle a suivi les cours de maître de Leon Fleischer, Paul-Badura Skoda, Vitaly Margulis, entre autres. Katsura a remporté des prix lors de concours internationaux, notamment l’A.M.A. de Calabre, le DAAD en Allemagne et le concours Mendelsshon à Berlin. Katsura est actuellement soliste et chambriste en Europe et au Japon ; elle a également joué de la musique de chambre avec des musiciens renommés tels que Gary Hoffman, Charles Neidich, Nobuko Imai, Philippe Graffin, Michael Sanderling, etc. et elle est invitée à des festivals de musique internationaux en Europe et au Japon. Elle a été professeur à la Hochschule für Musik de Francfort et elle est maintenant professeur de piano à la chapelle musicale de Waterloo et au Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles.

Born in 1994 in Japan, Takumi Nozawa started study of violin at age 4. In 2012, he was admitted to Tokyo University of the Arts and studied violin with Natsumi Tamai.

At the age of 21, he achieved viola diploma of Master with Acanthus prize at Tokyo University of the Arts.  He continued his studies at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève under Miguel da Silva.

He has benefited from the guidance of such renowned artists as Aki Saulière, David Quiggle, Raphael Bell, Yuko Mori, Heiichiro Oyama, Gabor Takacs-Nagy.

From 2013, he plays from Nagaokakyo chamber ensemble as a member.

In 2020 he entered the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel as artist in residence in the class Miguel da Silva.

Anastasia Feruleva – violoncelle :

Anastasia Feruleva est née à Arkhangelsk (Russie) et a commencé ses études de violoncelle à l’âge de cinq ans. À l’âge de 14 ans, elle a été admise à l’école de musique spéciale du Conservatoire de Saint-Pétersbourg. Dès son plus jeune âge, elle se produit régulièrement dans son pays natal et ses tournées de concerts l’emmènent à travers l’Europe, y compris aux Pays-Bas, où elle obtient son baccalauréat avec Larissa Groeneveld et Michel Strauss au Conservatoire royal de La Haye. Sous la direction du Prof. Troels Svane, elle a terminé sa maîtrise à la Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler de Berlin avec la plus haute distinction. Elle a obtenu son examen de concert à la Hochschule für Musik Lübeck avec Troels Svane, également avec distinction. Anastasia a récemment terminé ses études postdoctoral avec Ivan Monighetti au Reina Sofia à Madrid.

En outre, son développement artistique a été façonné par les influences d’artistes tels que David Geringas, Wolfgang-Emmanuel Schmidt, Jens-Peter Maintz, Reinhard Latzko, Gary Hoffman, Ralph Kirschbaum, Arto Noras, Miklós Perényi, Ferenc Rados, Michel Strauss et Eberhard Feltz Raphael Wallfisch lors de master classes à la Kronberg Academy, à l’IMS Prussia Cove et au Gstaad Menuhin Festival.

En tant que soliste, elle a joué avec des orchestres tels que l’Orchestre philharmonique de la ville hanséatique de Lübeck, le Württemberger Philharmoniker, l’Orchestre des Pays-Bas du Nord et l’Orchestre philharmonique des Pays-Bas/Orchestre de chambre des Pays-Bas.

Au Concours national de la Biennale de violoncelle 2016 à Amsterdam, elle a remporté le deuxième prix et un prix pour la meilleure interprétation de l’œuvre commandée.

En outre, elle est active en tant que chambriste et Anastasia est fréquemment invitée à des festivals tels que Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Cello Biennale Amsterdam, Tsinandali Festival, Clasclas Festival, Orlando Festival, Storioni Festival et Giverny Chamber Music Festival. Elle collabore avec des artistes et des ensembles tels que Raphael Wallfisch, Michel Strauss, Philippe Graffin, Silke Avenhaus, Rick Stotijn, Vladimir Mendelssohn et Camerata Concertgebouw.

En 2018, elle a sorti son premier CD « Ballets Russes » avec le pianiste néerlandais Frank van de Laar chez Gutman Records. De plus, Anastasia a donné son premier récital au Concertgebouw d’Amsterdam dans le cadre de la série Young Masters on Tour. Février 2021 a vu la sortie d’un nouveau CD  largement salué, « L’esprit du temps », avec des œuvres d’Enescu, Stravinsky, Lili et Nadia Boulanger sur le label TRPTK.

Elle joue un violoncelle de Rombouts (1710).

Michael Guttman is a violinist, conductor and music director of prominent festivals around the world, including Pietrasanta in Concerto, Crans Montana Classics in Switzerland, Le Printemps du Violon in Paris, and Made in Polin in Warsaw. He is also the music director of the Napa Valley Symphony and the Belgian Chamber Orchestra.

Guttman received the prestigious Scopus Prize (2014) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for his achievements in music, and was also nominated for a Grammy award for his Hindemith Album with the Philarmonia Orchestra. He was the youngest violinist ever admitted to the Brussels Royal Conservatory at age 10. His debut at age 14, with Jean-Pierre Rampal, led to the meeting with his mentor Isaac Stern who recommended him for further studies at the Juilliard School in New York City where he studied with Dorothy Delay and The Juilliard Quartet. He studied with the legendary Russian violinist Boris Goldstein, in tribute to whom he organized a violin competition together with Professor Zakhar Bron in Bern, Switzerland in 2014. As Belgium’s leading violinist, he was chosen to represent his country in 1992, during the Sevilla Universal Exhibition.

Concerts at the Lincoln Center, Barbican Hall, Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, Salle Pleyel in Paris, and in Asia were followed by invitations to prestigious festivals such as, Progetto Martha Argerich, Flanders Festival, Bashmet’s Elba Festival, Folles Journées of Nantes and Tokyo, and the Menuhin Festival Gstaad. He premiered the Philip Glass Double Concerto for Violin and Cello with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in the USA and the Hong Kong Philhamonic for Asia, which were both conducted by Jaap Van Zweden. He has toured with Martha Argerich, Nestor Marconi, Nigel Kennedy, Boris Berezovsky and Vadim Repin among others.

After collaborating with composers and conductors such as Lukas Foss and Noam Sheriff, he developed his conducting career and in 2017, toured the most prestigious halls in Spain appearing with the legendary pianist Ivo Pogorelich. His encounter with Astor Piazzolla encouraged him to discover different styles of tango music, and in 2017 he created the first double concerto for violin and bandoneon with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and J.P. Jofre, the famous Argentinian bandoneon player.

Michael Guttman plays on a 1735 Guarneri del Gesù violin once owned by the great Italian violinist and composer Giovanni Battista Viotti.

British-Maltese cellist Matthew Huber performs as a soloist and chamber musician worldwide. Matthew has collaborated with artists such as Robert Levin, Philippe Graffin, Maria Włoszczowska, Tomoaki Kimura, Alasdair Beatson, and Steven Isserlis. He has appeared at the Kronberg, Schiermonnikoog, Zagreb “Virtuosi” and Salisbury International festivals, Boston and Utrecht Early Music festivals, the North York Moors, Ryedale and St. Nazaire Festivals and regularly attends the International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove.

A CD recording featuring the music of John Tavener was recently released by Hyperion Records to critical acclaim in which Matthew joined cellists David Waterman, Vashti Hunter, Chiara Samatanga, Amy Norrington, Bartholomew LaFollette, Caroline Dearnley and Steven Isserlis in arrangements of works for 8 cellos. The recording won the Premiere Award from BBC Music Magazine.

Matthew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Performance and Musical Arts from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, a Master’s degree from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and was selected as a Young Artist Soloist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Chapelle in Brussels. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music. Matthew’s teachers and mentors include Steven Doane, Ralph Kirshbaum, Steven Isserlis and Gary Hoffman. He has a keen interest in teaching, instrumental pedagogy, historical performance practice and he is a Trustee of the Pierre Fournier Award. Matthew plays on a cello made in Cremona in 1685 by Francesco Ruggieri.
