CONCERT DE MUSIQUE INDIENNE
Dr. R. Suryaprakash was born in Chennai, At the age of seven, Suryaprakash started learning music from his uncle. He honed his talent under the great Carnatic master Sangeetha Kalanidhi T V Sankaranarayanan, nephew and disciple of the legendary Madurai Mani Iyer, for over a decade.
His music, very linked to “bhavam” emotion, his ability to captivate and improvise make him a highly sought-after and renowned artist on the major stages of the Indian subcontinent and internationally. A leading singer, he is also an outstanding teacher. He teaches all over the world. A true ambassador of Indian music, the government conferred on him the title “Grand Master of the Arts”
Suryaprakash holds a PhD from the University of Madras, awarded in March 2020 for his thesis titled “Structured and Systematic Approach to Manodharma Sangeetham (Spontaneous and Creative Improvisation in Indian Music)”.
